Monthly Draw
Lottery Rules
Last updated: June 2026
These rules govern the monthly society lottery promoted by Beverley Round Table,
registered as a Small Society Lottery with East Riding of Yorkshire Council under the Gambling Act 2005
(registration number to be confirmed). By entering, you agree to these rules.
The person responsible for promoting the lottery is the designated promoter.
1. Who can enter
You must be 16 or over to take part. It is an offence to buy or attempt to buy a ticket if you are under 16,
and we may withhold any prize and refund the stake where we believe an entrant was under 16. Entrants should be
resident in Great Britain at the time of entry.
2. Tickets and price
- Each ticket costs £2.00. Every ticket in the draw is the same price — we cannot offer discounts for buying more.
- There is no limit on how many tickets you may buy, subject to rule 7.
- Payment must be received in full before an entry is confirmed. Entries are taken online through our secure payment provider (Stripe); we never see or store your card details.
- Your entry is confirmed once payment has cleared and you receive a confirmation email. Each ticket is given a unique number for that month's draw.
3. The draw
- A draw takes place at the start of each calendar month for the entries received during the previous month.
- The winning ticket is selected at random, by computer. Every ticket has an equal chance of being drawn.
- The draw is final.
4. Prizes
- The cash prize is 50% of the total ticket sales for that month's draw.
- The winner is notified by email and given a secure, single-use link to provide UK bank details for payment by bank transfer.
- We will never ask you for a fee, your PIN, or your online-banking password in order to release a prize.
- Winners must provide valid payment details within 30 days of being notified. If, despite reasonable efforts to make contact, a prize remains unclaimed after 6 months, it will be applied to the purposes of Beverley Round Table.
5. Where the money goes
At least 20% of the proceeds of every draw goes directly to the good causes for which Beverley Round Table is conducted.
No more than 80% of proceeds is used for prizes and reasonable running costs combined.
6. Results
Each winner's first name, last initial and ticket number may be shown on our website, where the winner has consented.
We will not publish your full name, address or contact details. You can ask us not to publish your details by emailing us before the draw.
7. Limits
As a Small Society Lottery, total ticket sales are capped at £20,000 per single draw, and the maximum prize cannot exceed
£25,000. If a draw reaches its sales limit, no further tickets can be bought until the next draw opens.
8. Refunds and cancellations
Once an entry is confirmed it cannot normally be refunded or withdrawn. If a payment is taken but your entry is not recorded,
please contact us and we will either confirm your entry or refund the payment. If a draw has to be cancelled, all stakes for that draw will be refunded.
9. Your data
We collect only your name and email address to operate the draw and to contact a winner. We do not sell or share your details for marketing.
Full details are in our privacy policy.
10. Playing responsibly
This is a fundraiser, meant to be a bit of fun for a good cause — please only spend what you can comfortably afford.
Free, confidential support is available at BeGambleAware.org or on 0808 8020 133.
11. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please contact the promoter at our support email and we'll do our best to put it right.
The lottery is registered with East Riding of Yorkshire Council, the licensing authority.
12. General
- We may update these rules from time to time; the version in force is the one published here at the time of your entry.
- These rules and any dispute relating to the lottery are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
